Institute of Green Woodwork

We are a business based on the creation of functional household items. We use ultra traditional woodworking techniques, running evening and day classes. For more information on these visit Barn’s blog here.

Saturday’s are a chance to visit our open studio and have a go on the pole lathe from 10.30-12.30, all for free. We also run inexpensive mini workshops on a Saturday, to make something that you can take home and use.

Volunteer Day

These are on a Friday and a great way to get involved with the Institute. Spend the day working on a variety of tasks to maintain and improve the workshop. An opportunity to gain experience in a workshop environment. To become a volunteer contact Tom or Harry to arrange a trial day. Tom- 07846 864 731, Harry- 07807 593 141.

Corporate Days

We offer a range of workshops and woody activities for team building and corporate away days, based at our large workshop on the Farm. These can be anything from large-scale projects to mini-workshops, but all involve the use of ancient tools and methods, and working with green wood from locally felled trees.
