Stepney City Farm – Covid-19 urgent appeal

April 6, 2020 by Siobhan Brown

We urgently need your help to save the Farm from financial loss due to Covid-19.

Please donate to our crowdfunder to help continue the Farm’s work now and in the future.

Without your help we won’t be able to continue to offer you an oasis in the heart of Stepney Green. We are a charity reliant on income generated from visitors, corporate volunteers and venue hire all of which has stopped because of COVID-19.

Isolation means that overnight we have lost 45% of the Farm’s income and we are looking at a loss of around £27,000 by June.

We are not eligible for any of the government help that has been announced so far and we cannot furlough staff because we need to feed the animals and maintain the site.

In normal times the Farm is a hub of learning and support for the local community especially for vulnerable people, including older citizens, people experiencing anxiety and depression, local children, and people with disabilities and learning difficulties.

We are now also working hard to keep isolated members of our local community supplied with affordable, fresh produce during the lock down.

Help us care for the community and our animals, now and in future

When the crisis is over, we want to be here for people to recover from issues caused by the pandemic, including anxiety, depression, isolation, fear of going out, hunger and loss of work.

But without urgent financial support, we may not survive. Every penny counts:

  • £2.50 could feed our sheep and goats for a day
  • £10 could feed our rabbits for a week
  • £25 could feed our chickens for a week
  • £50 could pay for a donkey hoof trim.

Please support Stepney City Farm with a donation to help us get through the pandemic, so that we can continue to provide vital support for our local communities.
