Stepney City Farm flies the flag as one of the country’s best green spaces

Stepney City Farm celebrates receiving a Green Flag Award, the international quality mark for parks and green spaces.

Stepney City Farm is proud to have achieved the Green Flag community award. The Green Flag Award scheme recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.

‘Mystery Shopper’ feedback undertaken as part of the Green Flag assessment process, summed up the Farm as:

“A vibrant and fun place and a great resource for local communities. Thoroughly deserving of the community award.”

After 18 months that have seen our parks and green spaces play a vital role for people to relax, exercise and meet friends and family safely, the news that Stepney City Farm has achieved the Green Flag Award is testament to the dedication of the team that makes the Farm an urban oasis for everyone to enjoy.

Commenting on the news that Stepney City Farm has achieved the Green Flag Community Award, the Farm’s Chief Executive Clare Hawkins said:

“We’re delighted to have been awarded the Green Flag; Stepney City Farm is a much-loved rural oasis in Tower Hamlets, and all of the staff and volunteers who work together to maintain it for our local community can be very proud.”
